In some instances, sore spots may appear when immediate dentures are inserted. Most dentists recommend you see them within 48 hours following surgery to adjust and relieve sore spots. In the absence of sufficient cleaning, severe denture sores could occur, which could prolong the healing process. Dentures should be worn for the first night after surgery so that your dentist can detect sore spots.
