Dental Bonding

DENTAL BONDING IN (XYZ)

Dental bonding is a restorative process for chipped, cracked, discolored, or misaligned teeth that can be used as an alternative to veneers.

What is dental bonding and how does it work?

The tooth is prepared for dental bonding by softly etching its surface and adding a bonding solvent. Once the liquid has hardened, the dentist applies a plastic resin and shapes it to the desired shape. After the resin has cured, it is cut, smoothed, and polished to provide a natural appearance.

Dental Bonding Considerations

The bonding technique is frequently accomplished in a single office visit and can significantly improve the appearance of a tooth. However, because the plastic resin used is weaker than genuine tooth enamel, it is more prone to staining, chipping, and breaking than actual teeth. Typically, bonding lasts three to five years before requiring maintenance.
